Biodiversity

Coulombaud, was saved by its dormant period from the ravages of the toxic chemicals, inherent in almost all pesticides and hebicides. So when vines were replanted by new owners after the turn of the century, certified French “Vin Biologique” status (in English “Organic”) was quickly achieved. As no animal products are used in the filtration process Coulombaud wines are also suitable for vegans.

Purity

Domaine Coulombaud has not only seen the re-plantation of vines, but the new owners have also planted thousands of trees, bushes and flowering plants, with the aim of creating a uniquely biodiverse landscape offering a home to an extraordinary array of native insects, birds and animals, so often deprived by intensive farming practices of the habitat they need to preserve a balanced sustainable environment.

Mother Nature

On a summers day the gardens and vineyards buzz with life of many kinds of insect, including positive armies of unfarmed wild bees, butterflies, ladybirds and other beneficial creatures. The fountains encourage numerous amphibians and also some splendid bright green lizards that appears to have made Coulombaud their home.
